Accessibility
LaunchPad is built for people with disabilities and their families. We want every screen to work for everyone, and we tell you plainly where we are not there yet.
Effective October 16, 2026. Last updated October 16, 2026.
Our goal
Our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA on every screen. We are close on many screens, but not on all of them yet.
What we checked on October 16, 2026
We used automated checks (axe-core 4.10, WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules) in the Chrome browser engine. We checked the public pages (front page, pricing, sign in, sign up, invitation, shared pages, legal pages, the page-not-found page) and 137 signed-in screens. The signed-in screens were shown with made-up sample information, not real families.
We checked at three sizes: a phone (390 pixels wide), a small phone (320 pixels wide) with text at 200 percent, and a laptop (1280 pixels wide).
We also checked the code itself, screen by screen, for:
- typing boxes tied to their labels, and buttons with a spoken name
- picture cards, checklists and other tappable boxes that work with a keyboard or switch (Enter or Space)
- text size of at least 12 pixels, and text colors with enough contrast
- one main area, a "Skip to main content" link, and one top heading on each screen
- focus moving to the new page heading when the screen changes, and the page name being read out
- pop-up windows that keep the keyboard inside, close with the Escape key, and return focus afterwards
- saves, errors and new assistant replies being announced to screen readers
- less motion when the device has Reduce Motion turned on
- in-app messages in place of the browser's small pop-up boxes
What is not perfect yet
- Some screens still have a few colors that do not have enough contrast, mostly small colored labels on light colored cards. The last automated check found about 60 such spots on 37 of the 137 signed-in screens.
- We have not yet tested with people who use screen readers, switches or voice control every day, or on a real iPhone with VoiceOver or Android phone with TalkBack. Automated checks cannot find every barrier.
- Printed pages and PDFs you download have not been checked for accessibility.
- The founder video on the front page uses an outside video player. We have not checked its captions or controls.
- Smart suggestions and words people type are not checked for reading level.
