I didn't choose this work. It chose me in fourth grade, the year I met Laurie.
For over 30 years I sat across from families at IEP tables – navigating benefits, employment, housing, guardianship, and the terrifying question every parent eventually asks in the dark: "What happens to my child when I am gone?"
Then I became a stepmom, and the ground shifted under everything I thought I knew. There is a profound difference between knowing something professionally and living it personally. I felt it in my own chest.
I built My LaunchPad because every family should have a launch plan. Because Laurie's family, and Diane's family, and yours – should have had one place to go.
